What a wonderful initiative: to entertain sick children (cancer, anorexia…) and to take them away from their suffering. Laughter, games, songs… are a precious help for their morale (and for their families). I had to find the right distance, respecting their intimate space, not being intrusive, not falling into pathos. Finding out how to capture the clowns’ generosity, the emotion they give to these children. The camera was indeed an essential screen against my own emotion.
